To attend via Zoom\, register in advance at: https://bit.ly/TCIC-ITS2023. \n\n\n\nThe theme\, “Sharing our Abundance in Gratitude\,” was selected by the Tri-City Interfaith Council as a reminder of the many gifts we have received and the importance of sharing those gifts with others. The service will include prayers from diverse local faith communities. A highlight of the service will be a ritual passing of sacred traditions to the next generation. \n\n\n\nEach year\, the Council collects voluntary donations at this service. This year’s recipients are United Nations programs providing food (www.wfp.org) and clean water (www.purewaterfortheworld.org) to those most in need globally. The service typically runs 1 to 1 ½ hours. All are welcome!

The VIP program gives local community members the opportunity to care for their public spaces and give back to their community. DESCRIPTION:As a part of Hayward Public Library’s “Many Voices” series\, author Ava Homa will discuss\, and read from\, her award-winning novel Daughters of Smoke and Fire at Hayward Library’s Weekes branch on Saturday\, December 2nd\, from 1 – 2:30 PM. \n\n\n\nAt this free event\, Ava Homa\, Kurdish-Iranian author\, will be in conversation with literary critic and author Jennifer Carson as she talks about her award-winning book\, growing up in Iran\, her journey to becoming the first female Kurdish author published in English\, and some of the challenges facing both women and Kurds in the Middle East. \n\n\n\nAva Homa is an award-winning novelist\, a journalist\, and an activist\, whose groundbreaking novel\, Daughters of Smoke and Fire\, received the 2020 Silver Nautilus Award\, and was a finalist for the 2022 William Saroyan International Writing Prize. \n\n\n\nJennifer Carson is a novelist\, essayist\, and book critic whose work has appeared in the New York Times Book Review\, Los Angeles Review of Books\, and more. \n\n\n\nRegistrations for the event are highly encouraged but not required. All are welcome!
