A man died in Fremont earlier today after sustaining fatal injuries during an altercation with another man, according to a press release from the Fremont Police Department.
Officers with the Fremont Police Department responded to a call about a fight between two men near Stevenson Boulevard and Paseo Padre Parkway at around 4:10 p.m. When they arrived on scene, they found a man lying on the ground with severe injuries, which he succumbed to “despite lifesaving efforts” from the police officers and first responders with the Fremont Fire Department.
The slaying is the first homicide reported in Fremont this year.
A suspect was placed under arrest near the scene. Neither the suspect nor the victim were identified.
