Fremont

The city of Fremont, which is on unceded land of the Ohlone people, was incorporated in 1956 by combining the townships of Centerville, Niles, Irvington, Warm Springs and Mission San Jose.

The Fremont City Council is made up of six members, including a member from each district and the mayor. The council is currently made up of Mayor Lily Mei, District 1 Councilmember and Vice Mayor Teresa Keng, District 2 Councilmember Desrie Campbell, District 3 Councilmember Jenny Kassan, District 4 Councilmember Yang Shao, District 5 Councilmember Raj Salwan, and District 6 Councilmember Teresa Cox.

The council generally meets every first, second and third Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. in City Hall Building A at 3300 Capitol Avenue.
