Meet the candidates in line to be the next president of Ohlone College

Ohlone College has named its top three finalists for the position of eighth president, according to a statement from Ohlone Community College District.

“We are extremely excited with the caliber of our top three finalists,” Ohlone Community College District Board Chair Suzanne Lee Chan said in a statement. “The pool of candidates was outstanding and impressive. The presidential search committee worked diligently to identify those candidates who would best serve Ohlone’s needs.”

The candidates — Christopher Breitmeyer, Kimberlee Messina, and Charles Sasaki — are set to meet with the public at the college’s Jackson Theater from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. March 7, a day before the board of trustees interviews them. The event will be livestreamed for those who cannot attend in person.

Ohlone College’s board of trustees contracted with the Association of Community Colleges to conduct a national search for potential replacements after Eric Bishop resigned from the position in October 2022. Bishop had been in the role for just over two years before deciding to return to his alma mater, the University of La Verne.
